September 23, 2020   01:15 p.m.
Press Release from Lowville Free Library:

Quilt Raffle Fundraiser Goes Online Only, Drawing is Saturday, October
    3rd, 2020

Can one quilt cover 65 libraries?

On Saturday, October 3rd, 2020, Lowville Free Library, Dayan St, Lowville, NY,
will hold its first ever Quilt Raffle Fundraiser with a new twist! It will be viewed
online only and is sharing the opportunity with all 65 libraries in Lewis, Jefferson,
    St. Lawrence, and Oswego counties.

When anyone purchases tickets online, they can pick which library gets credited
50 percent of those funds. Lowville Free Library benefits from the remaining half
    of the proceeds.

“This year libraries have been working together in really wonderful ways, in the
midst of an extremely hard year. This fundraiser is an extension of that--all
libraries can benefit, and all patrons can show their support,” said library director
    Meghan Harney.

Tickets are only available online, but when using the form, you can choose the
second library to support and easily enter your data and pay for as many tickets
    as you want.

“Since the COVID-19 shutdown has affected operations at all libraries, many of
our organizations lost out on many fundraisers. Libraries tend to run on good
intentions, hard work, and slim budgets. This online event lets us open our doors
in a different way. We do miss our patrons.” said Jesica Christman, president of
the board of trustees of Lowville Free Library.

The winning tickets will be drawn on October 3rd. Five quilts are being raffled.
The signature quilt is being offered by Lynn Hall Waite. She is a lifelong north
country resident and supporter of libraries.

Lowville Free Library is an association library run by a board of trustees, and is a
501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. It is a member of North Country Library
System and is regulated by New York State Educational Department.
All proceeds from this event benefit Lowville Free Library and any library picked
by the ticket buyer. Funds will be used to support programs and materials
    provided by local libraries.

If you wish to buy tickets, you can do so by visiting Lowville Free Library on
Facebook, and look for the event “2020 Support Your Local Library Quilt
    Raffle”.
