Press Release from The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter:

Glenfield, N.Y. - Thelma Matthews, a residence manager at The Arc, Oneida-
Lewis Chapter, has been named a 2020 Thomas A. Maul Direct Support
Professional Excellence awardee. This award is presented annually to four direct

    Arc New York statewide organization.

Through this award, The Arc New York recognizes individuals who consistently

level of performance throughout their career with a devotion to improving the
quality of life for the people they support.

“When I started this job 18 years ago, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I

has become a very meaningful career. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing.”

Arc Oneida-Lewis CEO Karen Korotzer praised Matthews, saying, “Thelma is an

is more than deserving of this award, and we’re very fortunate to have her at The
    Arc.”

Thelma will receive her award at a virtual meeting on October 1st. She becomes
the second Arc, Oneida-Lewis’ employee to receive this honor in as many years
with Deborah Fleming, a day habilitation specialist in Oneida county having won
    in 2019.
