| USDA Announces $99,950 Grant to Assist Black River Valley Natural Expand Creamery Operation August 24, 2020 08:00 a.m. |
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced that it is investing more than $1.2 million in grant funding to provide equipment, technical assistance and training opportunities in rural New York. Included in the funding is a project in Lewis County: The Lewis County Development Corporation has been awarded $99,950. This investment will assist Black River Valley Natural (BVRN) in expanding their creamery operation. Funding will allow for the purchase of local milk, a cooler, a freezer and climate-controlled storage equipment for cheese making. An estimated 7 jobs will be created as a result of this investment. |
