State Siting Board Grants Certificate of Environmental Compatibility
and Public Need to Construct Deer River Wind Energy Project

    Albany, NY-  The New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the
    Environment (Siting Board) voted unanimously this morning to grant Atlantic
    Wind LLC a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to
    construct and operate a 101.4- megawatt (MW) wind electric generating facility
    (Deer River Wind Energy Project) consisting of up to 25 wind turbines located in
    the Towns of Pinckney (21 turbines) and Harrisburg (4 turbines), in Lewis
    County, New York, and a proposed point of interconnection (POI) in the Town of
    Rodman in Jefferson County, and associated facilities (the Facility or Project).
    The Siting Board stated that the Project will meet all statutory requirements for
    certification under Article 10 of the Public Service Law (PSL).
