Lewis County Public Transportation Set to Resume JCC and Utica
Connector Routes June 15; Seasonal Old Forge Route Starts June 27

    Lowville, NY- Lewis County Public Transportation (LCPT) is set to resume
    normal service for both the  JCC & Utica Connector Routes on Monday, June
    15th. Face coverings will be required.

    The system's Old Forge Seasonal Route will begin service on June 27th, to
    coincide with the anticipated opening date for Enchanted Forest Water Safari. As
    a precaution, there will be 1 rider limit per seat and face coverings are
    required. (LCPT will be providing a bus for the employee orientation day at
    Water Safari on June 24.)

    LCPT wants to assure all riders that they are dedicated to providing the
    community with safe, reliable transportation services. Throughout the COVID-19
    pandemic, the system has continued to follow the NYS DOH recommendations
    for public transportation facilities and CDC guidelines. To avoid the spread, the
    following policies and procedures have been implemented:

  • All fares have been temporarily waived to offset financial hardships and
    potential virus spread through currency handling. (Fare collections for all
    services will resume on July 1, 2020.)
  • Each vehicle will be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.
  • While our drivers are avoiding terminal use, each day our facility is cleaned
    and sanitized.
  • Drivers are equipped with personal hand sanitizers and face masks.
  • Riders are required to sit at least 6 feet apart when riding in an LCPT
    vehicle.
  • As of April 17th, to further comply with Governor Cuomo's Executive Order
    202.17, all riders are required to wear face coverings. Those who do not
    have a face covering available will be provided with a face mask when
    boarding an LCPT Vehicle. Riders who refuse to wear a face covering will
    not be allowed to board an LCPT vehicle.
