Guidelines Issued for Phase II Businesses Planning to Reopen;
Governor Gives Green Light for 5 Regions to Enter Phase II

May 29, 2020   01:15 p.m.
    New York State finally issued guidelines Friday morning for businesses planning
    on reopening in Phase II of the governor's plan to reopen the economy in four
    phases.

    Later, at a 1 p.m. press conference, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that 5
    regions are now permitted to begin Phase II, including the North Country.

    Sectors of the economy permitted to open in Phase II are included below, with
    guidelines that businesses will need to implement for reopening included for each
    sector. Business owners should read and affirm the guidelines that pertain to
    their sector.

    From the forward.ny.gov website:

    The guidelines below apply to non-essential businesses in regions that are
    permitted to reopen, essential businesses throughout the state that were
    previously permitted to remain open, and commercial and recreational activities
    that have been permitted to operate statewide with restrictions. If guidance has
    not yet been published for your specific industry, but you are permitted to reopen,
    please refer to the NY Forward Safety Plan template.
