Village of Lowville's Five Streets
Construction Project Set to Resume Monday

April 10, 2020   12:30 p.m.   By: Nick Altmire
Lowville, NY- Highlander Construction, the company contracted to perform the
Village of Lowville's Five Streets construction program, began moving equipment
back into the village this week as they prepare to resume work for the season.

Work is expected to resume on Monday, April 13. Plans have changed slightly,
with work this season now beginning on Trinity Avenue- near the school parking
lot, to take advantage of school currently being out of session. Crews will
continue down Trinity Avenue until that street is completed. After work is
completed on Trinity crews will move over to Shady Avenue, beginning at the
FasTrac store and working their way up to the intersection at State Street. Park
Avenue will be the final street to be completed this season.

It's important to note that this is the plan as things currently stand, but changes
    may be made as needed.

The $18.9 million project was approved by the Village Board of Trustees in 2018
to address aging water, sewer, and storm water infrastructure along five main
streets in the village (Trinity, Shady and Park Avenues and Stowe and Water
Streets). Last year work was completed on Stowe Street and Water Street.
Officials hope to complete the majority of the project this season.
