Lowville Wrestler Advances to
Semifinals in State Wrestling Championship

    Albany, NY- It was a great opening day at the New York State Public High
    School Athletic Association's (NYSPHSAA) wresting championships for Lowville
    Academy & Central School wrestler Micah Roes.

    Micah won both of his matches in opening day action at the tournament in his
    126 pound weight class in Division 2. Micah, the number two seed in his weight
    class, has advanced to compete in the semifinal round today. He will face No. 3
    seed Caleb Svingala from Maple Hill out of Section II. The winner will advance to
    the championship round later today.

    Micah earned his spot in the State tournament after bringing home the Section III
    Wrestling Championship in the 126 pound weight class in Division 2. Micah
    advanced all the way to the Nationals last season as a junior in the 113 weight
    class. He finished 7th overall in the country, earning All American status, given to
    the top 8 finishers in each class. Micah has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at
    Binghamton next season.
