| Habitat for Humanity Seeking Qualified Family for New Build Project in Lyons Falls March 01, 2020 11:30 a.m. By: Nick Altmire |
a qualified family or individual to partner with for a new build project they plan to start this spring in Lyons Falls. The organization received a building lot across from Otis Technology through a gracious donation by the Abbey family. The plan is to construct a new home on the property, with the project beginning in the spring. The first step is finding a qualified person or family that meets the requirements to take possession of the home. There are a number of floor plans available for the group to use, but knowing how many people will be residing in the new house is important to determine before deciding which plan to use. To qualify, an interested person or family must show a demonstrated need for housing, meet minimum and maximum income guidelines, and be willing to invest "sweat equity" into the project through volunteering at the site. Both single individuals and families can apply and you do not have to currently reside in Lewis County. We've included additional information on qualifying below, including income guidelines and examples of demonstrating a need for housing.
