Legislators was held this afternoon, the first session of the new year. Most of the business conducted during the meeting concerned appointments, administering oaths of office and adopting standing rules for the new session of the legislative board. Lawrence Dolhof, representing District 8, was selected to serve another term as Chairman of the Board. Jerry King, District 10, will again serve as Vice-Chairman. Cassandra Moser was appointed to serve a two-year term as Clerk of the Board. Mrs. Moser previously served as Deputy Clerk under newly retired Clerk of the Board Teresa Clark. (Oath of Office video) County Manager Ryan Piche and County Attorney Joan McNichol were both reappointed to serve two-year terms in their current positions. The two newly elected members of the board were sworn in to office, in addition to the eight returning members. Ian Gilbert now represents District 4, winning election to the office in November after former representative Bryan Moser decided not to seek reelection to the post. (Oath of Office video) Philip Hathway returns as the District 1 representative, after a two year break. Mr. Hathway retired from the board and did not seek reelection in 2017. John Lehman won the seat in 2017 and served one term. Mr. Hathway decided to enter the race for the seat in 2019 and defeated Mr. Lehman in November's election to return to the position.
