| Toys for Children Collection Drive Returns to Essenlohr Motors for 20th Year December 04, 2019 03:45 p.m. By: Nick Altmire |
Lewis County, with community members invited to help fill the pickup truck on display in the showroom at Essenlohr Motors with toys to help children in need this holiday season. The toy drive, sponsored by Essenlohr Motors, Cub Scout Pack 1605 and the Lewis County Marine Corp League, is run in conjunction with the Lewis County Christmas Sharing Program. Community members can stop by Essenlohr Motors, 7393 Utica Blvd. in Lowville, to drop off any new, unwrapped toys during normal business hours. Toys will be collected through Christmas Eve. Donations can also be made by cash or check, with checks made payable to Lewis County Christmas Sharing Program. All donations stay local in Lewis County. Toys for all age ranges are needed, but please refrain from items such as toy guns, knives or other weapons. Last year over 1,760 toys were collected, along with over $1,400 in monetary donations, according to Essenlohr Motors owner Marc Essenlohr.
