Lewis County Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding: Alicia N. Babcock, 25, of Croghan, was sentenced to serve 1 1/2 years in State prison follow by a year of post release parole after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, class D felonies, on October 18. She was additionally ordered to pay $375 in court fees and will have her driver's license suspended for 6 months. Ms. Babcock admitted to possessing materials used to make the drug on both August 30 into August 31, 2018 in the town of Croghan and on April 5, 2019 in the town of Watson. Darick R. Brand, 30, of Lowville, pleaded guilty to one count each of third- degree Attempted Burglary, a class E felony, and second-degree Possessing Prison Contraband, a class A misdemeanor. Mr. Brand admitted to entering the Walmart store in Lowville on July 23, 2019 with the intent to commit a crime and knowing he was banned from entering any Walmart store. He additionally admitted to possessing a prescription that didn't belong to him while in the Lewis County Jail on September 11, 2019. Sentencing in the case was adjourned to December 20, when Mr. Brand is expected to receive 1 year in Lewis County Jail one each charge, to be served concurrently. William C. Deamer, 46, of Harrisville, was sentenced to serve 330 days in the Lewis County Jail after pleading guilty to one count of second-degree Criminal Contempt, a class A misdemeanor, on October 18. Mr. Deamer admitted to violating an order of protection on August 7, 2019 in the town of Diana, when he used threatening language and acted in a threatening manner toward the protected party. He was additionally ordered to pay $250 in court fees. Taylor B. Dennee, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class D felony, admitting to possessing the materials to make the drug during the execution of a search warrant in the town of Watson on April 5, 2019. Sentencing was adjourned to January 24, when Ms. Dennee is expected to be placed on probation for 5 years. Patricia L. O'Donnell, 34, of Lyons Falls, pleaded guilty to one count each of third-degree Attempted Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, both class E felonies. Ms. O'Donnell admitted to attempting to possess the materials used to manufacture methamphetamine, while driving under the influence of the drug, during a traffic stop on May 17, 2019 in the town of New Bremen. Sentencing was set for January 24, when Judge King will consider a mandate for the State prison system's Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program when determining a State prison sentence. Xavier Rose, 29, of Watertown, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class B felony, admitting to selling cocaine in the town of Denmark on November 8, 2018. Sentencing was adjourned to December 20, when Mr. Rose is expected to receive 6 years in State prison as a second felony offender with a prior violent felony conviction. Patrick J. Summers, 24, of Deposit, NY, was sentenced to serve 2 years in State prison followed by a year of parole after pleading guilty to one count of fifth- degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class D felony. Judge King then mandated him to the the State prison system's Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program, allowing an inmate to serve their remaining sentence on parole after completing the program. Mr. Summers was additionally ordered to pay $305 in restitution and a $50 court fee and will have his license to drive suspended for 6 months. Mr. Summers admitted to selling the drug LSD during the moe.down music festival in the town of Turin on July 5, 2019. Ashley M. Ward, 23, of Lowville, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree Criminal Possession of Narcotics, a class B felony, admitting to possessing 8.6 grams of heroin on November 3, 2018 in the town of Martinsburg. After the plea Ms. Ward was placed on interim conditions of probation for one year, with final sentencing scheduled for November 13, 2020. Ronnie Westbrook, 31, of Indianapolis, IN, was sentenced to time served on a count of third-degree Possessing a Forged Instrument, a class A misdemeanor. Mr. Westbrook previously admitted to passing counterfeit $100 bills at the Walmart in Lowville on September 3, 2019. He was ordered to pay $1,210 in restitution and $250 in court fees. Mr. Westbrook was then turned over to Federal authorities on active warrants in Indiana. |
