7th Annual Live Walk-Through Nativity
at Maple Ridge Center Set for December 7

    Seventh annual Live Nativity kicks off the Christmas season

    The community is invited to The Story of Hope, a live walk-through Nativity
    featuring flying angels, live animals, and more.

    Lowville, NY — Maple Ridge Center and Beaver Camp, along with the help of
    many community volunteers and churches, will be hosting The Story of Hope on
    Saturday, December 7 at Maple Ridge Center. Now in its seventh year, the live
    walk-through Nativity takes visitors through a guided tour of five scenes telling
    the traditional Christmas story.

    “The Story of Hope is a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season,” says
    Mike Judd, the executive director at Beaver Camp. “Expect to travel back in time
    a few thousand years, away from our phones and Christmas traditions, and step
    into a world just as desperate for hope and glimpse the event that changed the
    world.  The Live Nativity is perfect for families of all ages.”

    Tours are given every few minutes from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Families can enjoy hot
    chocolate and live music inside the waiting area. Some of the scenes are
    outdoors, so guests should dress for the weather.

    This annual event is free. However, donations will be accepted to benefit Beaver
    Camp’s Campership Fund. The fund provides financial assistance to campers at
    Beaver Camp’s summer program. Beaver Camp and Maple Ridge Center are
    both operated by the Adirondack Mennonite Camping Association. The two
    properties provide programs, meeting spaces, and things to do for families in
    upstate New York throughout the year. During the winter, Beaver Camp hosts
    winter camps for youth ages 8-18. Its meeting rooms, lodging, cross-country ski
    trails, and other amenities are also available for reunions, retreats, field trips, and
    other private groups.

    Organizers are still hoping to add a few more live animals to the event, including
    sheep, goats, and chickens. If you’re interested in helping, please contact the
