Lewis County Public Health reports an increase in phone calls

regarding people encountering bats in their homes.

"So far all of the ones we have tested have been negative for rabies," said

Maryann Vargulick, Communicable Disease Nurse at Lewis County Public Health.

If you do encounter a bat in your home, Public Health has provided the following

tips on when and how to capture the bat:
