Lowville, NY- Work is progressing on the NYS Route 812 culvert replacement
project now that the weather has improved and the water has receded.

State Department of Transportation (DOT) crews expect to have the pipe bedded
with backfill ongoing the remainder of this week.

"While working at the location, we discovered another pipe inside the closure
area that, while not in as bad of shape as the one we are replacing, needs work,"
Michael Flick, Regional Public Information Officer with NYS DOT told
linkinglewiscounty.com today. "We will be slip-lining this pipe and doing some
    remediation to the inlet/outlet ends."

Mr. Flick said both sites are expected to be completed in the coming weeks and
anticipates that Route 812 will be reopened to traffic by the July 4th weekend.
