Town of Denmark Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault Against Child

    Lowville, NY- A town of Denmark man appeared in Lewis County Court this
    afternoon to accept a plea deal, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding.

    Terick R. Goodwin, 46, pleaded guilty to two counts of Predatory Sexual
    Assault Against a Child, class A felonies, admitting to having sexual intercourse
    and oral sexual contact with a female under the age of 13 at his State Route 26
    residence in the town of Denmark in September.

    The case had been set for trial on August 5.

    Mr. Goodwin was indicted on four counts of the charge in December and was
    facing up to 25 years to life in prison on each count if convicted at trial.

    Under the plea deal, Mr. Goodwin was allowed to plead guilty to two counts, with
    an expected sentence of 15 years to life in prison to be imposed. Sentencing will
    take place on July 19. His remand at the Lewis County jail will continue until the
    sentencing date.
