    Lowville, NY- According to data from the Northeast Regional Climate Center,
    dating back to 1893 for Lowville, the month of May just ended as the 5th wettest
    on record.

    A total of 6.31 inches of rain fell in May, nearly double the average of 3.35
    inches. At least a trace of rain was recorded on 22 of the month's 31 days, with
    the highest total on May 20 with 1.07 inches.

    This put 2019 as the fifth highest amount of precipitation recorded during May.

    the normal of 14.85 inches recorded at this point in the year.

    As for temperatures, the average high this May was 62.1 degrees. That was 3
    degrees below the average daily high temperature of 65.1 for May. The highest
    temperature of the month came in at 84 degrees on May 20. The lowest high
    temperature was 47 degrees on May 15 and the lowest low temperature was 37
    degrees on May 14.
