Submitted by Retired Lewis County Treasurer Vicki Roy: As a retired County Treasurer and Lewis County Taxpayer, the election of the next Lewis County Treasurer, is very important to me. Eric Virkler is the most qualified applicant running in the 2019 Election. Eric was born and raised in Lewis County, a graduate of LACS and Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Eric is a licensed Certified Public Accounting, has worked as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand, served as Chief Financial Officer at LCGH for six years; licensed in life, health and investment insurance sales with Stephen Foy Insurance Agency; served as Clerk/Treasurer and Administrator for Village of Lowville, served as Director of Economic Development and Planning for Lewis County for 6 years, and currently serving as Director of Lewis County Economic Development and Executive Director of the Lewis County Industrial Development Agency. In these positions, he has been responsible for budgeting, state, federal, and local reporting, management of departments and staff, developed good communications skills with staff and boards, very familiar with the needs of Lewis County residents and their concerns. Eric is also a committee member of the Lowville Cream Cheese Festival; Chairperson for Mountain View Prevention Services, LACS Varsity Men’s swimming team; Lowville Summer Recreation committee member and past member of Lewis County Empire Zone Board and Lewis County Chamber of Commerce. I personally worked with Eric when I was County Treasurer and found him easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. Please vote Eric Virkler for Lewis County Treasurer on June 25th, Primary Day.
