August, is an exciting way to keep youth learning during the summer and provide
a fun opportunity to explore STEaM (science, technology, engineering, art, math)
concepts through hands-on projects, learn the basics of video game
programming and design, create virtual worlds and much more.

Kids’ College dates/times/locations vary. For a complete workshop listing, visit
    www.sunyjefferson.edu/kids.

Early registration is recommended! Call the JCC Workforce Development and
Business Division at (315) 786-2233 to register by phone or visit www.

    Picture Perfect (Ages 10-14)

Your student will create perfect photos as they learn about photograph design
and composition, basic camera function, and how to use editing software. Adobe
Lightroom and Photoshop will be taught. Time will be spent outdoors practicing
newly learned skills. Students should bring a digital camera with them to class.

    1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. / Cost: $150  / CED 639 701

    Animation 101 (Grades 4-6)

Students will learn to bring their characters and drawings to life! We will start with
writing a story, turning it into a script, designing a storyboard, creating characters
and then, make them move. Students don’t need to be a great artist to be a great
animator! They will learn the process, and go through the steps to develop their
stories and art into animated shorts. Awesome animations tell a story and
students can choose to create a simple or elaborate one. Students will work in
teams and individually be using simple techniques to bring their creativity to
    action with animations.

    Monday – Friday, August 19 – 23

    Location: Jefferson Community College

    10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / Cost: $125 / CED 397 701

watched YouTube videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this
year alone! In this course, students will develop competitive game-play skills in
