    Lowville, NY- A Turin man received sentencing in Lewis County Court on
    Friday, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding, after pleading guilty to
    felony count of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs during a March 29th
    appearance in which he admitted to operating a motor vehicle while impaired by
    fentanyl on October 19, 2018, in the Town of West Turin..

    Cody J. Amidon, 27, was sentenced to an indeterminate term of 2 to 6 years in
    State prison, with Judge King then mandating him to the State Prison System's
    90-day Willard Drug Rehabilitation program, which allows individuals to serve the
    remainder of their sentence on parole after successful completion.

    He was additionally ordered to pay a $500 fine and $375 in court fees. His
    license to drive will be revoked for one year.

    During his plea on March 29, Mr. Amidon additionally admitted that the incident
    was a violation of his current terms of probation, for which he was placed on for
    three years in January of 2017, after pleading guilty to an Aggravated Unlicensed
    Operation charge. Judge King accepted his admission at that time, and on Friday
    revoked his probation and sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, to run at the
    same time as the above sentence.

    Also in Lewis County Court Friday:

    Abigail J. Loomis, 35, of Ava, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree
    Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class C felony, admitting to
    possessing hydromorphone in the town of West Turin in July. Sentencing was
    adjourned until July 19 when she is expected to be placed on interim conditions
    of probation. If successful she will be allowed to withdraw her guilty plea to the
    felony charge and instead plead to a misdemeanor charge and serve 3 years of
    probation. If unsuccessful she would face a year in Lewis County jail.

    Kyle T. Simpson, 24, of Lowville, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree
    Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, a class E felony, after admitting to
    possessing a debit card belonging to someone else on September 10 in the town
    of Croghan. Sentencing was set for May 31, when he is expected to receive one
    year in Lewis County jail and will be ordered to pay $291 in restitution.

    Bladimar Torres Morales, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree
    Attempted Assault- With Intent to Cause Injury, a class E felony, after admitting to
    attempting to cause injuring by stabbing an individual with a jack knife during an
    altercation in the Town of Montague on October 28, 2018. Sentencing was
    adjourned until July 19, when he is expected to receive 6 months in Lewis
    County jail and 5 years of probation.
