Lewis County Relay for Life Returns to Fairgrounds May 31

The annual Lewis County Relay for Life event returns to the

Lewis County Fairgrounds Friday night, May 31, with just under 20 teams set to

participate. The event raises money for the American Cancer Society.

The community is invited to come out to support the teams throughout the

evening, as team members walk around the track to remember those lives lost to

cancer, honor cancer survivors, and support those currently fighting the disease.

Teams also have tent sites around the track, offering food, activities, games and

other fundraisers for the cause.

The theme for this year's event is "Dancing Our Way to a Cure".

A series of events are planned during the event, beginning with an opening

ceremony and parade of teams at 6 p.m. and ending at 12:30 a.m. with the

closing ceremony and team awards. A Luminaria Ceremony takes place at

0 p.m.
