Session With LACS Superintendent Finalists

    Lowville, NY- Members of the community had the opportunity to meet the two
    finalists for the Lowville Academy Superintendent of Schools position on
    Tuesday evening, with around 20 people attending the question and answer
    session.

    Current superintendent Cheryl Steckly is set to retire over the summer, with the
    school's Board of Education in the final phase of naming a successor.

    The choice has been narrowed down to two finalists, from the fourteen
    applications received.

    Each finalist, current Superintendent of Remsen Central School District Rebecca
    Dunckel-King and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction at Oneida City School
    District Tina Lane, were given 45 minutes to introduce themselves to the
    community and field questions from those in attendance. Community members
    were given feedback forms to provide their impressions to the Board of
    Education for consideration before a final decision is made.
