Participating maple syrup producers will open their doors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 23 & 24 and March 30 & 31, inviting the public in for an inside look at their operations. Lewis County has a deep tradition in the maple industry, and offers traditional operations as well as producers using state-of-the-art technology to make their product. Lewis County is also home to the International Maple Museum Centre, located at 9756 St Rt 812 in Croghan, where a pancake breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to noon on each of the four days of Maple Weekends. The all-you-can-eat breakfast cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children aged six to twelve. Children aged five and under eat free. Free tours of the museum are offered until 4 p.m. each day. A tree tapping ceremony with state and local officials is scheduled for 11 a.m. on March 23 at the museum.
