| Village of Lowville Superintendent of Public Works Resigns 12/14/18 01:15pm By: Nick Altmire |
Public Works. Following a special meeting of the Lowville Village Board of Trustees yesterday, held in executive session to discuss "imminent personnel issues," Superintendent of Public Works Thomas Compo tendered his resignation, effective immediately. Lowville Mayor Donna Smith said she could not offer any comment on personnel matters, saying only that Mr. Compo resigned for "personal reasons." "I would like to say though, the knowledge and experience Tom brought with him have been an asset to the Village," Mayor Smith told linkinglewiscounty. com. "We wish him the best." This comes on the heels of another resignation in the department, DPW foreman Thomas Widrick, who has accepted a position with another municipality. His resignation is effective December 23rd. The department, which has 11 employees in addition to the superintendent, should continue to run smoothly, Mayor Smith said. "We're hoping for a smooth transition and residents shouldn't notice any disruptions in services provided by the DPW," Mayor Smith said, noting they still have a full road crew in place. She hopes the vacated positions can be filled at some point in January. Anyone interested in either position can forward a resume to: Village of Lowville Clerk 5535 Bostwick St. Lowville, NY 13367 More details on the Superintendent position are included below. |
