Lowville, NY- Community members joined on Monument Lane in Lowville last
evening for the Village's annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

With an appearance from Santa, the crowd sang Christmas carols as they
awaited the lighting of the tree by Mayor Donna Smith.

After lighting the tree on Monument Lane, the crowd then proceeded to the new
park at the four-corners intersection at Dayan and State Streets. Children had
the opportunity to ride a hay wagon to the next park, singing carols along the
    way.

After arriving at the new park, Mayor Smith started what she hopes will be a
new tradition of lighting and decorating a tree there as well, donated by the
    Lions Club.

Cookies and hot cocoa were provided, as the community decorated the new
    tree downtown.

Video of both tree lightings is included below, beginning with some words from
    Mayor Smith.
