Natural Bridge Woman Sentenced to Prison on Meth-Related Charges

    Lowville, NY- A Natural Bridge woman appeared in Lewis County Court this
    morning, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding, for sentencing on a
    number of counts that she pleaded guilty to on November 2nd.

    Lindsey L. Babcock, 33, will ultimately serve a total of 7 years in State prison,
    followed by 6 years of post-release parole. She was additionally ordered to pay
    a total of $1,500 in court fees and will have her license to drive suspended for
    6 months.

    The following are charges to which guilty pleas were entered on November 2nd:

    Indictment 2018-066

    Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (second-degree, Class A felony)

    Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine (third-degree, Class D felony)

    Ms. Babcock admitted to possessing over 2 ounces of meth, in addition to
    materials used to manufacture the substance, at her home in the Town of
    Diana on March 29, 2018.

    Indictment 2018-071

    Identity Theft (second-degree, Class E felony)

    Falsifying Business Records (first degree, Class E felony)

    Forgery (third-degree, class A misdemeanor)

    Criminal Possession of Meth-Making Materials (class A misdemeanor)

    Ms. Babcock admitted that, on March 10, 2018, at the Kinney Drugs store in
    the Village of Lowville, she used the driver's license and signed the name of
    another individual in order to purchase a nasal decongestant with the intent to
    manufacture methamphetamine.

    Indictment 2018-123

    Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine (third-degree, Class D felony)

    Ms. Babcock admitted to possessing materials to manufacture
    methamphetamine during a search of her residence in the Town of Diana on
    October 3, 2018.

    SCI 2018-128
    Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine (third-degree, Class D felony)

    Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance (seventh-degree, Class A
    misdemeanor)

    Ms. Babcock admitted to possessing materials to manufacture
    methamphetamine, in addition to a small quantity of methamphetamine,
    during a search of her residence in the Town of Diana on October 22, 2018.
