Lowville, NY- Investigator Xaymara Morales, with New York State Police
Lowville, has organized the NNY Christmas Miracle Event Drive, collecting toys
for area children that have been victims of abuse.

Working with the Child Advocacy Center in both Lewis and Jefferson counties,
the goal is to collect enough toys to distribute to each child the centers have
worked with this year. (For more on the Child Advocacy Center in Lewis
County, you can see our article covering the opening from April, 2017 here.)

"The Child Advocacy Center plays a significant role for families and children
experiencing physical, mental, and sexual abuse," Investigator Morales, 2018
Real Hero Award winner for her work with the Advocacy Center, explained.
"This will give us a different, more positive way to interact with these families
during the holidays. It's a way to let them know they are not alone in their time
    of need."

The toy drive runs through December 15th, with wrapping events to follow at
the Lewis County Child Advocacy Center on December 19th and the Jefferson
County Advocacy Center on December 20th. Families will pick up the presents
during a dinner scheduled for December 21st.

To help out, you can donate a toy valued between $20 and $25, or some
wrapping supplies, such as paper and tape, at one of the locations listed below.
