Jerden Falls Road Bridge Reopened
Today After Completion of Replacement Project

    Town of Croghan, NY- A new bridge carrying traffic over the West Branch of
    the Oswegatchie River on the Jerden Falls Road opened today, after the
    completion of the bridge replacement project.

    Winn Construction Services was awarded a $1,291,155.00 contract back in
    May to replace the bridge, beginning work in July.

    The new bridge carries a 20-ton limit, up from the 5-ton limit the old bridge was
    down to.

    "Overall the project went very smoothly," Lewis County Highway
    Superintendent Warren Shaw said.

    Crews will return in the spring to complete finishing touches, but the new bridge
    is now open to traffic.

    Next up for bridge replacement projects will be the Highmarket bridge on the
    Highmarket Road and a bridge on the Liberty Road, according to Mr. Shaw.
