Three Arrested Following Drug Bust in Town of Martinsburg

    Town of Martinsburg, NY-  Three individuals have been arrested following a
    drug bust on the West Road on Saturday.

    Few details are available at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
    Officials plan to hold a press conference regarding the incident at some point in
    the future, where additional details will be provided.

    Currently, linkinglewiscounty.com is able to confirm with officials the
    following arrests and associated charges:

    Ashley Ward, 21, and Derek Damuth, 24, were each charged with:

  • 2 counts each of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled
    Substance, a class B felony

  • 1 count each of second-degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana, a class
    D felony

  • 1 count each of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia

    Mr. Damuth was additionally charged with one count of Resisting Arrest, a
    class A misdemeanor.

    Both were arraigned in the Village of Lowville Court, with bail set at $10,000
    cash or $20,000 bond for Ward and $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond for Damuth.

    A third individual was arrested and taken into custody on federal charges, with
    no further information currently available.

    Agencies involved in the operation include the New York State Police Com
    munity Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), the Lewis County Drug Task
     Force, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency
    (DEA), and the Lewis County District Attorney's Office.

    Again, the investigation into the matter is ongoing and we will provide additional
