incident that occurred last night at Demko Farm, 6334 State Route 26, south of Lowville. Sgt. Rich Knight tells linkinglewiscounty.com that the call came in just before 11:30 last night, indicating a fight between two employees at the farm. Sgt. Knight said the victim was stabbed and transported by Lewis County Search & Rescue to St. Elizabeth's hospital in Utica with chest wounds, where he was listed in stable condition in the intensive care unit at the hospital this morning. An air medical transport was initially requested, but the helicopter declined to fly due to weather. According to Sgt. Knight, the suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of patrols and is believed to no longer be in the area. The investigation into the incident is in the early stages, with no additional information being released at this time. The name of the victim and the suspect have not been released, pending investigation. We'll update as more information becomes available. |
