Lowville and Beaver River Advance to Sectional Semifinals in Football

    Lewis County, NY- Two Lewis County varsity high school football programs
    moved a step closer to reaching a sectional championship with quarterfinal
    wins this weekend in Section III tournament games.

    In Class C, No. 4 Lowville advances to a semifinal matchup against No. 1
    Holland Patent on October 26, after shutting out No. 5 Mount Markham 30-0
    Friday night. Gavin Macaulay caught two touchdowns from Chad Bach, with
    Adrian Macaulay adding a touchdown catch as well. Issac Lyndaker added an
    18 yard touchdown run. Lowville also scored on a safety and was successful
    with two of their four conversion attempts.

    In Class D, No. 2 Beaver River is moving on to a semifinal matchup on October
    26 against No. 3 Herkimer, after defeating No. 7 Sauquoit Valley 28-22 this
    afternoon in Beaver Falls. The Beavers scored the first 22 points of the game
    before a late run by Sauquoit Valley. Collin Noftsier had two first half rushing
    touchdowns, with Sam Bush and Nate Erker each scoring a rushing touchdown
    in the second half for Beaver River. Beaver River also scored on a safety and
    was successful with one of their three conversion attempts, with one missed
    kicked.

    10/26: No. 1 Holland Patent vs No. 4 Lowville
    10/26: No. 2 General Brown vs No. 3 Utica Notre Dame
