Lowville, NY- The Lewis County Board of Legislators unanimously approved
a new labor deal for hospital employees at a special meeting this evening.

The contract with Local 825 of the Civil Service Employee's Association
(CSEA) for Lewis County General Hospital (LCGH) employees expired on
    December 31, 2017.

Both sides have been negotiating a new deal, which was approved and ratified
by the union and by the LCGH Board of Managers on October 4.

The new agreement is effective from January 1, 2018 through December 31,
    2021.

Local 825 CSEA represents over 500 employees at the hospital.

The terms of the deal include an $800 signing bonus for employees and a
2.5% pay increase for 2018, effective with the November 1 pay period. The
2018 increase in not retroactive. Employees will then see 3% increases in
2019, 2020 and 2021. Premium pay for employees was extended to include
both Saturday and Sunday, with the previous deal only paying premium pay on
    Sundays.

With a contract now in place for hospital employees, the County now has labor
agreements in place with all bargaining units. The Road Patrol agreement
expires December 31, 2019, Corrections is under contract through 2020, and
the CSEA General Unit has an agreement in place through 2020 as well.
