Brantingham Woman Pleads Guilty to Attempted Rape

    Lowville, NY- A Brantingham woman appeared in Lewis County Court this
    morning, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding, accepting a plea deal in
    a sex offense case that was scheduled for a February trial.

    Jill M. O'Connor, 40, of Brangtingham, pleaded GUILTY to third-degree
    attempted Rape, a class "A" misdemeanor. She was originally facing charges of
    third-degree Rape, third-degree Criminal Sex Act, and Endangering the
    Welfare of a Child. Sentencing is scheduled for November 30, when she is
    expected to receive six years of probation and will be required to register as a
    sex offender.

    Ms. O'Connor was accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-
    old male in December of 2017.










    Also in Lewis County Court this morning, Shane M. Jackson, 37, Town of
    Diana, pleaded GUILTY to charges of second-degree Criminal Possession of a
    Controlled Substance, a class "A" felony, and third-degree Unlawful
    Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class "D" felony. Sentencing was set for
    November 30, when he is expected to receive 8 years in State prison, followed
    by five years of post-release parole. The charges stem from an incident at his
    Old State Road residence in the Town of Diana on March 29, 2018.
