Soccer Advance to Sectional Quarterfinals

    Lewis County, NY- A pair of Lewis County schools have advanced to
    quarterfinal action in the Section III Class C Boys Soccer tournament.

    No. 2 South Lewis defeated No. 15 LaFayette on Wednesday evening by a
    score of 4-1, with sophomore Matt Skorupa scoring all four goals. South Lewis
    will face No. 10 Thousand Islands in a quarterfinal match on Friday.

    Also in Class C, No. 4 Beaver River blanked No. 13 Dolgeville by a 9-0 score
    on Wednesday. Beaver River will take on No. 5 Bishop Grimes on Friday in a
    quarterfinal matchup.

    Elsewhere is boys soccer sectional tournament action, No. 10 Lowville lost to
    No. 7 Marcellus on Wednesday by a 6-2 score in Class B, while No. 6 Lyme
    defeated No. 11 Copenhagen by a 2-1 score on Tuesday.
