    Lowville, NY- The following plea and sentencing activity took place this
    morning in Lewis County court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding:

    William C. Deamer, 44, of Harrisville, was sentenced to serve three years of
    probation on a charge of second-degree Criminal Contempt, a class "A"
    misdemeanor, to which he pleaded guilty to on June 22. He was additionally
    ordered to pay $250 in court fees. An order of protection was issued on behalf
    of the victim. Mr. Deamer was accused of violating a court order of protection
    on January 30, 2018, in the Town of Diana.

    Brent J. Donahue, 29, was arraigned and pleaded GUILTY to a charge of first-
    degree Scheme to Defraud, a class "E" felony. Sentencing in the case was set
    for October 26. Mr. Donahue was accused of defrauding two individuals in the
    Town of Croghan, between May 9 and May 11, 2018, by pretending to sell
    items on the Craigslist website and accepting payment without delivering the
    items.

    Kayla A. Rogers, 31, of Lowville, was sentenced to a one year conditional
    discharge on a charge of fifth-degree Welfare Fraud, a class "A" misdemeanor,
    to which she pleaded guilty to on August 17. She was additionally ordered to
    pay $50 in court fees and $176 in restitution. Ms. Rogers admitted to receiving
    $160 in food benefits she was not entitled to, between December 1 and
    December 31, 2017, by not reporting income to the Lewis County Department
    of Social Services.

    Kayla M. Weiler, 25, of Port Leyden, was placed on interim conditions of
    probation for a year, after pleading GUILTY to a charge of second-degree
    Forgery, a class "D" felony. If successful, the felony would be reduced to  
    misdemeanor and she would be sentenced to three years of probation. If
    unsuccessful, the felony would remain and she would be facing prison time as
    a second-felony offender. Final sentencing was scheduled for September 20,
    2019. Restitution in the amount of $200 has been paid. Ms. Weiler was
    accused of making a check out to herself and forging the signature of the
    account holder, in the Town of Leyden, between May 1 and June 14, 2017.
