initiating the process to potentially abolish the elected Treasurer position in Lewis County, as was first reported by linkinglewiscounty.com on August 27. We hoped to be able to address the proposal during our This Month in County Government segment with Lewis County Manager Ryan Piche, who has not responded to multiple phone and email requests to conduct our monthly segment for September, which is always published prior to the monthly board meeting. We have the resolution that the board will be considering this evening for our readers to review, which is included at the end of the article. Anyone who wishes to be heard on the subject can attend this evening's board meeting (taking place at 5 PM in the second-floor boardroom at the old court house in Lowville) and speak during the public comment session, during the early portion of the meeting. There will also be a public hearing on September 18.
