    Lewis County Historical Society, 7552 S State St., Lowville, will host a brown bag
    lunch presentation, at noon on September 12, about 19th Century Adirondack
    Outdoors women. An illustrated lecture will be given by Edward Pitts, Rap-Shaw
    Club historian. The roles women played in the exploration and settlement of the
    central Adirondacks have too often been minimized or overlooked. This talk
    presents stories of camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, homesteading and hotel
    keeping by these unsung pioneers.
