Data Shows July Was One of Warmest on Record in Lowville

    Lowville, NY- According to data from the Northeast Regional Climate Center,
    last month was one of the warmest Julys on record in Lowville, with records
    dating back to 1893.

    The mean temperature (average air temperature) for July was 71.8 degrees,
    third warmest on record, trailing only 1935 and 1955 when a mean temperature
    of 72 degrees was recorded in July. The normal mean temperature for July in
    Lowville is 67.1 degrees.

    fifth on that all-time list. An average high of 86 was recorded for July in 1931,

    Much of the month was below normal for precipitation, until a tropical system
    dropped 3.7 inches of rain from July 25-27, bringing the total for the month to
    4.73 inches. Normal precipitation for July in Lowville is 3.56 inches. Last month
    ended up as 21st all-time for precipitation in July.
