Lowville, NY- The Lowville American Legion Post 162 will host a Flag
Retirement Ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, starting at 6 PM.

"When the United States flag (Old Glory) becomes worn, torn, faded or badly
soiled, it is time to replace it with a new flag, and the old flag should be "retired"
with all the dignity and respect befitting our nation's flag," said Post Commander
Lee Hinkleman. "On June 14th, at 6PM, we are not burning a flag we are retiring
a symbol of America's honor, courage, and strength."

This solemn public ceremony takes roughly 15 minutes, and will be conducted at
the Lowville American Legion.  Refreshments to follow with museum tours.

The American Legion is located at 5383 Dayan Street, Lowville. For more
    information you can call 315-376-3712.
