    Lowville, NY- The following activity took place today in Lews County Criminal
    Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding:

    Tammy M. Arndt, 44, of Harrisville, was arraigned and pleaded GULTY to a
    charge of Petit Larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor. The case was adjourned to
    July 13 for sentencing. Ms. Arndt was accused of stealing from the Walmart store
    in the Town of Lowville on December 7, 2017.

    Antoinette M. Cassoni, 32, currently a resident at the Lewis County Jail, was
    arraigned and entered a GUILTY plea to a charge of fifth-degree Criminal
    Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony. She was adjudicated
    as a second felony offender, with a previous felony conviction in 2016, and was
    sentenced to serve 4 years in State prison- with a SHOCK program
    recommendation- followed by 2 years of post-release parole. She was
    additionally ordered to pay $425 in court fees and will have her license to drive
    suspended for 6 months. Ms. Cassoni was accused of possessing heroin with
    the intent to sell on November 21, 2017, in the Town of Greig.

    Matthew D. Cobb, 25, of Port Leyden, was arraigned and entered a GUILTY
    plea to an amended charge of second-degree Offering to File a False Instrument,
    a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing in the case was adjourned to August 17.
    Mr. Cobb was accused of falsifying time sheets submitted to the Lewis County
    Department of Social Services for payment of babysitting duties he did not
    perform between November 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017.

    Cacee M. Comfort, 34, and James A. Comfort, 44, both of Copenhagen, were
    each sentenced to a 1 Year Conditional Discharge on charges of fifth-degree
    Welfare Fraud, a class "A" misdemeanor, to which they pleaded GUILTY to on
    March 16. They were each additionally ordered to pay $250 in court fees, joint
    and several restitution, and will not be eligible for SNAP benefits for one year.
    Mr. and Mrs. Comfort are accused of failing to report income between January
    26, 2017 and March 1, 2017 when re-certifying for food stamp benefits with the
    Lewis County Department of Social Services.

    William C. Deamer, 44, of Harrisville, was arraigned and entered a GUILTY
    plea to an amended charge of second-degree Criminal Contempt, a class "A"
    misdemeanor. Sentencing in the case was adjourned until September 7. Mr.
    Deamer was accused of violating a court order of protection on January 30,
    2018, in the Town of Diana.

    James M. Dean, 66, of Gouverneur, pleaded GUILTY to an amended charge of
    fifth-degree Arson, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing in the case was set for
    September 7. Mr. Dean was accused of starting a fire on October 19, 2015, at a
    trailer on Paddy Street in New Bremen.

    Cody Fox, 27, of Port Leyden, was arraigned on a pair of Grand Jury
    indictments, entering NOT GULTY pleas to the following counts:
    *first-degree Promoting Prison Contraband, a class "D" felony
    *second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class "C" felony
    *third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class "D" felony
    *second-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class "C"
    felony
    *seventh-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class
    "A" misdemeanor
    Judge King set bail at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond. The case was adjourned
    to July 13. Mr. Fox is accused of possessing weapons, methamphetamine and
    meth-making material on January 9, 2018 in the Town of Martinsburg.

    Holly M. Gonyea, 32, of Lowville, was arraigned and pleaded GUILTY to a
    charge of fourth-degree Grand Larceny, a class "E" felony. The case was
    adjourned to September 7 for sentencing. Ms. Gonyea was accused of stealing a
    7mm bolt-action rifle on April 16, in the Town of Watson.

    Toni L. Hodges, 28, of Calcium, was arraigned and pleaded GUILTY to a
    charge of Petit Larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing in the case was
    adjourned until August 17. Ms. Hodges was accused of stealing a shotgun in the
    Town of Diana on September 21, 2017.

    Gabriel E. Jewett, 26, of Calcium, was arraigned and pleaded GUILTY to a
    charge of Petit Larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing in the case was
    scheduled for August 17. Mr. Jewett was accused of stealing a shotgun in the
    Town of Diana on September 21, 2017.

    Justin S. Knapp, 19, of Forestport, was arraigned and entered a GUILTY plea
    to a charge of third-degree Burglary, satisfying all counts he was facing.
    Sentencing was adjourned to July 13. Mr. Knapp was accused of breaking into
    the Pioneer Cafe in the Town of Martinsburg on September 6, 2017, damaging
    and stealing property.

    Denver J. Larkins, 18, of Glenfield, entered GUILTY pleas to charges of first-
    degree Sexual Abuse, a class "D" felony and third-degree Burglary, also a class
    "D" felony. Sentencing was scheduled for September 7. Mr. Larkins was accused
    of sexually abusing a four-year-old female, in the Town of Croghan, between
    August of 2016 and August of 2017, in addition to breaking into and stealing
    property from Lewis Lanes in the Town of Lowville on September 27, 2017.

    Robert S. Matuszczak Jr., 53, of Port Leyden, was sentenced to serve a 3 Year
    probation term on charges of third-degree Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle,
    a class "A" misdemeanor and Reckless Driving, an unclassified misdemeanor, to
    which he pleaded GUILTY to on April 13. He was additionally ordered to pay $50
    in court fees and a $150 fine. Mr. Matuszczak was accused of taking a 2012
    Ford Focus belonging to another individual on October 17, 2017, in the
    Village of Port Leyden, then driving recklessly through a construction zone nearly
    striking a road worker. He later crashed the vehicle in the Town of Verona.

    Larry Mutchler, 38, of Lowville, was sentenced to serve 4 months in Lewis
    County Jail on a charge of fourth-degree Criminal Sale of Marijuana, a class "A"
    misdemeanor, to which he pleaded GUILTY to on April 13. He was also ordered
    to pay $410 in restitution and $50 in court fees. His license to drive will be
    suspended for six months. Mr. Mutchler was accused of selling marijuana to an
    individual in the Village of Lowville on March 2, 2017.
