Lowville, NY- Village of Lowville Trustees have set a June 20th public hearing,
beginning at 5 PM, regarding a proposed local law seeking to create joint
Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals boards with the Town of Lowville.

The Town of Lowville board is expected to make a similar recommendation at
their May 24 meeting, with a public hearing likely to take place on the Town side
    during their June 21st meeting.

The Village notes that it has had a difficult time in keeping a sufficient number of
members for both the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals. They
also believe there will be efficiencies gained by having both boards join with the
Town boards through an inter municipal agreement. The result would be a
Cooperative Planning Board and a Cooperative Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Village will additionally hold a public hearing on a proposed Local Law for
roads and sidewalks, making it illegal for people to place brush and other debris
on sidewalks or in streets. The law would expand on an existing statute in place
making it illegal to move snow into streets and onto sidewalks. This public
hearing is also scheduled for June 20 at 5 PM.
