Port Leyden Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Burglary
Stemming from Incident Alleging Chainsaw Attack on Homeowner

    Lowville, NY- The following activity took place this morning in Lewis County
    Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding:

    Kyle M. Poore, 31, of Port Leyden, entered a GUILTY plea to an amended
    charge of first-degree Attempted Burglary, a class "C" felony, satisfying all counts
    he was facing. The case was adjourned to July 13 for sentencing, when Mr.
    Poore is expected to be sentenced to 5 years in State prison, followed by 5 years
    of post release parole. Mr. Poore was accused of unlawfully entering a dwelling
    on the Cut Off Road in the Town of New Bremen on February 19, 2017,
    brandishing a running chainsaw and attempting to damage a door and causing
    injury to the homeowner.

    Matthew D. Ludwikowski, 22, of Port Leyden, was sentenced to serve a 10
    year probation term on charges of third-degree Rape, a class "E" felony and
    Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class "A" misdemeanor, to which he
    pleaded GUILTY to on March 16.. He was additionally ordered to pay $1,425 in
    court fees and an Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim for a
    period of 8 years. Judge King also classified Mr. Ludwikowski as a Level 1 Sex
    Offender, the lowest designation. Mr. Ludwikowski was accused of engaging in
    sexual intercourse with a victim under the age of 17 at the Lewis County
    Fairgrounds, in the Village of Lowville, on April 12, 2017.

    Tammy M. Mecca-Arndt, 44, of Harrisville, was arraigned and entered a
    GUILTY plea to a charge of Petit Larceny, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing
    in the case was adjourned to June 22, when Ms. Arndt is expected to be placed
    on a 3 year probation term. Ms. Arndt was accused of stealing from the Walmart
    store in the Town of Lowville on December 7, 2017. Ms. Arndt, who is currently
    on probation for a Burglary conviction, admitted that the new plea violated the
    terms of her current probation. Judge King accepted the admission and restored
    her to the original terms of probation.
