    Lowville, NY- Wayne D. Mihalyi, 66, of Lowville, appeared in Lewis County
    Court this morning, with acting Lewis County Judge Honorable John H. Crandall
    presiding.

    Mr. Mihalyi entered a GUILTY plea to one count of first-degree Criminal Sexual
    Act, a class "B" felony. The plea satisfies all nine counts of a grand jury
    indictment he was arraigned on in January. The case had been scheduled for a
    July trial.

    The case was adjourned to June 22 for sentencing, when Mr. Mihalyi is expected
    to receive 12 years in State prison followed by 20 years of post release parole.
    He was remanded to the Lewis County Jail without bail until sentencing takes
    place.

    Mr. Mihalyi was accused of engaging in sexual activity with a fourteen year old
    male victim between the dates of August 1 and September 30, 2017.

    An outstanding matter in the Town of Martinsburg court, involving a different
    victim, is expected to be resolved prior to sentencing. That case involves nine
    misdemeanor counts, with any sentence likely being merged into the State prison
    sentence.
