Lowville, NY- The Lewis County Board of Legislators held their regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening, with all ten legislators present.
Some highlights of the meeting include:
- The Board authorized the purchase of two (2) UTVs and a trailer to haul
them for the Parks and Recreation patrol at the Lewis County Sheriff's Office for a total price of $37,762.
- The Board approved a State-mandated salary increase for the District
Attorney, from $185,350.00 to $197,600.00. The vote was 6-4 with Legislators Greg Kulzer, Bryan Moser, Randy LaChausse and Andrea Moroughan in opposition.
- The Board approved additions to the two voluntary, alternate health
insurance plans in the County's self-funded health insurance plan. The board additionally moved to reduce the proposed July insurance rate increase from 10% to 2%. Legislator Kulzer was opposed to the rate decrease, as he suggested no increase for July. The resolution passed by a 9-1 vote.
- The Board moved to open a series of County roads for the April 21st SNIRT
Run. County Attorney Joan McNichol informed the board that she has received the proper insurance documents and agreement from the club holding the event.
