the dog that attacked and killed a neighbor's dog that was outside on his leash, was voluntarily euthanized yesterday at Countryside Veterinary Clinic in Lowville. "Jake & I had a legal agreement that if he voluntarily put Thor down I would stop the dangerous dog proceedings, remove everything about the attack from my Facebook, and let media who ran our story know he euthanized Thor. This morning at Countryside vets, Thor was euthanized. My husband, animal control & a village police officer went to make sure he followed through. This will not bring my Gunner back, but we can feel safe and move forward. We just want to thank everyone for the support," Amber Friedersdorf wrote on the change.org petition her and her husband Todd had started. The Friederdorf's had initiated dangerous dog proceedings in the Village of Lowville after their dog Gunner was attacked and killed on October 21st while tied out on his leash at their Park Avenue home. The attacking dog Thor had a history of biting people, with at least three bite reports on file with Lewis County Public Health. Thor belonged to Jacob Gearhart. |
