The Flood Watch continues for * Portions of central and western New York...including the following counties...in central New York...Jefferson...Lewis... Northern Cayuga and Oswego. In western New York...Ontario and Wayne. * From this evening through Monday afternoon. * A slow moving cold front will bring significant rainfall during this time period with one to one and a half inches of rain expected. * Excessive runoff from the heavy rainfall may result in flooding of low lying areas and also small streams and creeks. Drainage inlets clogged by leaves may increase the risk of street flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
