Lewis County Unveils 2018 Tentative Budget for Public Review

    Lowville, NY- Lewis County has unveiled the Tentative 2018 Budget for public
    review, with a presentation to the Lewis County Board of Legislators this
    evening. A public hearing for the budget is scheduled for 5 PM on November
    16th in the second-floor legislative chambers in Lowville.

    The tentative budget for the 2018 general fund comes in at $45,468,424, a
    $522,130 (1.16%) increase over the adopted 2017 general fund budget of
    44,946,294. The amount to be raised by taxes is $15,799,939, a $461,750
    increase over the adopted 2017 amount of $15,338,189. The full value tax rate
    will increase from $7.23/$1,000 assessed value in 2017 to $7.34/$1,000 in
    2018, a 1.58% increase.
