County Ag Agencies Present Year in Review at 'Taste of Lewis County'

    Lowville, NY- A number of agencies dealing with Lewis County agriculture
    gathered in the elementary cafeteria at Lowville Academy on Thursday eveing
    for the annual 'Taste of Lewis County' celebration.

    The Lewis County Farm Bureau, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis
    County, Lewis County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Lewis
    County Dairy Princess each provided a year in review during a short
    presentation.

    Hidden Pastures Dairy, a goat dairy in Glenfield, was awarded with a $10,000
    check for winning their category in the American Farm Bureau Federation’s
    2018 Farm Bureau Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge. Double E Dairy in
    Lowville was recognized by the Lewis County Soil and Water Conservation
    District as the Conservation Farm of the Year.

    Various goat cheeses and crackers were provided by Wendy Klossner, Cheese
    Curds and bologna by Schultz and Eddies, a mozzarella tomato salad with
    cheese by Kraft Heinz and deviled eggs by Black River Valley.
