Port Leyden Man Receives 17 Years to Life Sentence
on Predatory Sexual Assault Against Child Charge

    Lowville, NY- Shawn R. Pignone, 32, of Port Leyden, was sentenced this
    morning in Lewis County Court with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding.
    He received a sentence of 17 years to life in prison on charges of one count of
    Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a class "A" felony and 13 counts of
    Possessing Sexual Performance by a Child, class "E" felonies, to which he
    pleaded GUILTY to on September 29th. He was additionally ordered to pay
    $1,425 in court fees and an order of protection was issued on the victim's
    behalf for an eight year period from the maximum release date.

    Mr. Pignone was accused of engaging in sexual behavior with a child under the
    age of eleven between March of 2014 and January of 2017 in the Town of
    Lyonsdale. After a search warrant was executed by the New York State Police
    on January 23, 2017 on his computer, images of child pornography were
    located, resulting in the 13 counts of Possessing Sexual Performance by a
    Child.
