in Sectional Boys Soccer Seminfinal Tuesday

    Lewis County, NY- Following a weekend of sectional tournament action for a
    number of area varsity high school teams, three teams will continue their
    journey towards a sectional championship.

    Boys Section III Class C Soccer Tournament:

    The No. 5 seed in the bracket, Beaver River, earned a spot in the sectional
    semifinals after a 1-0 victory over No. 11 Tully on Friday afternoon. The
    Beavers will face No. 8 South Lewis on Tuesday, after the Falcons advanced
    with a 2-0 upset win over top seed Cooperstown on Friday, leading to an all
    Lewis County sectional semifinal match. The winner of the match will move on
    to the October 28th championship game facing the winner of a Tuesday match
    between No. 2 Sauquoit Valley and No. 3 Frankfort-Schuyler. Beaver River and
    South Lewis both play in the Frontier League C Division, with the Beavers
    taking both regular season games by scores of 2-1 on September 30th and 1-0
    on October 10th.

    Girls Section III Class B Soccer Tournament:
    No. 2 Lowville moves into the semifinals after a 1-0 victory over No. 7 South
    Jefferson on Saturday. Lowville will face No. 3 Clinton on Tuesday with the
    winner advancing to the sectional championship game to take on the winner of
    Tuesday's other matchup, No. 1 Westhill versus No.12 Holland Patent.

    Section III Class D Football Tournament:
    No. 3 Beaver River had its season come to an end after a 52-6 loss to No. 6
    Onondaga on Saturday in a quarterfinal game in Beaver falls. Beaver River
    returned to postseason play after finishing with a 3-1 record in the new Class D
    Central Division this season.
